Jordan Brady, director of “I Am Battle Comic,” discusses comedy, filmmaking, and traveling overseas.

People who are funny for a living aren’t always a barrel of laughs in person. In fact, many comedians and comedy directors save their funny for the stage and screen. There’s no such worry with filmmaker Jordan Brady, who is simply one of the wittiest and most pleasant people you could ever spend time with. He is also the unofficial biographer of the current comedy boom. In the 1990's, Jordan toured the country as a stand-up comedian, eventually finding fulfillment behind the camera making movies (Ben Affleck, Billy Bob Thornton, and Cameron Diaz are just some of the stars who got their start in his films). To date, Jordan’s directed over 700 national television commercials, so he knows a thing or two about truth in advertising and telling brands stories. In our sprawling conversation, we cover plenty of ground, including his latest comedy doc, I Am Battle Comic, for which Jordan traveled to Afghanistan, Kuwait and more to perform for our nation’s troops.
