Good tech vs Bad Tech. The freedom of the open road. What kind of world do we want to live in? These are issues tackled by “Bearclaw,” the lead character in Warren Lam’s new sci-fi web series, Moto Nostra. They’re also themes broached in my sit-down with actor Travis Hinson, who plays the role. While he had a small role in the feature film, XXX: State of the Union, his most notable role to date may be playing jazz icon Miles Davis in the short film, Trane and Miles, directed by Scott Essman
Born in North Carolina with a shotgun in one hand, and a basketball in the other, Travis set both aside after graduating from Davidson College with a degree in Economics. A brief stint in the banking industry could not quench his artistic thirst. Several years of study with the Film Actors Studio in Charlotte, North Carolina led to the inevitable move to the west coast. Travis is currently working on his own science fiction project while helping put the finishing touches on Moto Nostra.
On the day we spoke, we had shot some photos and behind-the-scenes interview footage for Moto Nostra, which is partnering with our podcast sponsor, Ccilu (CHEE-loo), whose futuristic footwear appears in the series.
